Kevin Murphy added by Hitachi Sunrockers

Kevin Murphy (196 cm, Tennessee Tech’12) has been picked up by Japanese team Hitachi Sunrockers Tokyo (Japan-NBL). He has already made his debut for his new team and he was able to score 16 points and hand out two assists in just 17 minutes of action. Murphy had a busy 2014-15, playing for several teams. He started off joining the Idaho Stampede (D-League) a month after being cut by the Utah Jazz at the beginning of the season. Kevin averaged 23.2 ppg and 4.5 rpg in 15 games for Idaho. In January 2015 he moved to Asia to play for the Zheijiang Guangsha Lions (China-CBA). He played 16 games for them and posted averages of 22.6 ppg and 4.4 rpg. His stint was brief, returning stateside to join the Grand Rapids Drive (D-League) and there he recorded averages of 14.8 ppg and 3.8 rpg in 16 games.
