Josh Asselin heads to Foolad Mahan

Josh Asselin (210 cm, Michigan’01) is headed to Iran this 2013-14 season to play for Foolad Mahan Esfahan. Asselin is an international basketball player who has both American and Dominican Republic citizenship.

Josh is coming off a 21-game stint in Puerto Rico’s BSN playing for the Brujos de Guayama. In that time, he was able to hit averages of 5.6 ppg and 3.0 rpg, helping the team reach the Puerto Rican BSN semifinals. He moved there in June 2013 after a two-season run with Assignis Manresa from Spain’s ACB. In the 2012-13 season, Asselin logged 34 games for the Spanish club and averaged 12.7 ppg and 4.2 rpg.
