Jobey Thomas signs with Barcellona

American guard Jobey Thomas (194 cm, Charlotte’02) is making his way back to Italy to join the roster of Sigma Barcellona (Italy, Lega 2). 32-year old Thomas has recently parted ways with Acegas Aps Trieste (Italy, Lega 2) due to the financial difficulties impacting the club forced him to move on. He will now join a Barcellona team sitting at the top of the Lega 2 standings with an 11-5 record.

Jobey Thomas has been a familiar face in Italian Basketball having played in the country since joining Andrea Costa Imola (Lega 2) for the 2003-2004 season. During his time in Italy Thomas has played with Carife Ferrara (Lega 2, 2004-2006), Montegranaro (Serie A, 2006-2009), Varese (Serie A, 2009-2011), and Treviso (Serie A, 2011-2012).

This season Thomas has played 15 games with Trieste and averaged 17.5ppg, 0.8rpg, and 1.9apg. He will be looking to bring his good form to the Barcellona team.
