Halil Kanacevic goes pro with Virtus Roma

Italian Serie A team Virtus Roma is set to bring in rookie Halil Kanacevic (203 cm, St. Joesph’s’14) this season to strengthen their frontcourt. Virtus Roma is currently sitting in sixth place in the Serie A standings with a record of 15-11. Kanacevic is an American player who also holds a passport from Montenegro. Should Virtus Roma make a an attempt at a deep run during the post-season, the addition of Halil and his well rounded game could prove to be useful.

In his senior year at St. Joseph’s Halil 10.9 ppg and 8.7 rpg. He was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team, the All Atlantic 10 2nd Team, the NABC Division I All-District 4 2nd Team and was voted the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament M.V.P.
