More than anything, we know that Basketball is not only a U.S. sport anymore.
Kazakhstan’s BK Kapshagay (Division 1) has bolstered its front court by signing Gentry Lewis (206 cm, Philander Smith’05) to a contract. Gentry last played in Thailand for the Bangkok Cobras in the ASEAN League. There, he averaged 15.5 ppg and 11.8 rpg in 19 games.
In 2010-11 Gentry Lewis played for TTNET Beykozspor from Turkey (TB2L). That season, he posted averages of 8.3 ppg and 11.0 rpg. The 32-year-old big man has also played stints in Saudi Arabia’s Premier League for Al Nahdha Al Khobar and Syria’s Division 1 for Al Ittihad Aleppo.
