FIBA arbitration ruled: Bilbao must pay € 550k to Zagreb for Saric

FIBA Arbitration ruled on Dario Saric’s case today. The FIBA Tribunal ruled that Bilbao Basket must pay € 550.000 to KK Zagreb for the Croatian star Dario Saric.

“I’m shocked and surprised, I was hoping for a much lesser amount. Now, I do not know what will be done next. We’re at the beginning of the soap opera. I hope they’ll somehow solve everything, I leave it in the hands of my lawyers. I have no choice but to concentrate on my work. I just want to play. I do not even know what to think” said Saric.

“We’re in shock, Dario also. We are looking for a way out of this situation and that’s all at this point I can say. I don’t know who can pay, maybe CSKA,Barcelona or Real. We’ll see what Bilbao says. I can’t believe what FIBA ruled” said Saric’s father.

Dario Saric has been “on loan” practicing with KK Split the last month, waiting for this situation to be resolved between Bilbao and Zagreb.

Zagreb says their contract with Dario Saric had a 1 million Euro buyout.

Agent made a deal on basis of a moderate buy-out.
They better have agreed with Zagreb before negotiations.

The main question is whom will collect the future NBA buy-out?! 500K to be deducted by Bilbao< I assume.
