Eurochallenge Final FourThe Eurochallenge Final Four is set after Energia Targu-Jiu Rovinari and the Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt both punched their tickets. The two clubs join Nanterre and Trabzonspor in the Final Four, those two clubs heading to the showpiece last week after sweeping their respective series’.

As for Rovinari and the Skyliners, the clubs went into a deciding game in a bid to make the Eurochallenge Final Four, and here’s how the action played out.

Energia Targu-Jiu Rovinari vs. Le Mans, 79-64
Targu-Jiu Rovinari overcame French club Le Mans with a second home win of the three game series. The Romanian club overcame a losing halftime score line to storm the second half and win the game. Le Mans had started well and at the midway interval held a slender one point lead, the scoreboard reading 32-33, but it was still a tight game. The hosts won the third 24-13 to open a double digit lead heading into the last act, and a 23-18 run in the fourth secured the victory. The winners pulled 41 rebounds off the glass while Le Mans could only manage 28.

Andreas Glyniadakis secured a game high 18 points in the win, while Porter Troupe and Lamont Mack scored 14 points apiece. There were two double-double performances for Targu-Jiu, Glyniadakis added 11 rebounds to his points haul and was followed by Nemanja Milosevic with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Judson Wallace and Daniel Ewing kept Le Mans in contention with 15 points each.

Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt vs. BC Enisey, 85-80
The Fraport Skyliners booked a passage to the Eurochallenge Final Four with a second home win over Enisey in Germany. The Frankfurt based club was really on the ropes in the first quarter as Russian club Enisey drained 31 points in an 11-31 run in the second quarter. It was enough for the visitors to lead 25-44 at the long break, and Enisey had a foot in the Final Four. However, the Skyliners simply found their game in an enthralling second half, blitzing the third with a 33-15 streak before carrying the momentum through a winning fourth stanza to win the game.

Johannes Voigtmann was pivotal in dragging the Germans back into the game, he plundered 26 points and secured 7 rebounds. Justin Cobbs was a potent attacking thread with 19 points and 8 scoring passes.

Elmedin Kikanovic topped Enisey with 21 points, followed by Terrico White with 19 points.
