Postojna Cave ready for EuroBasket 2013 Draw

All is set in Postojna Cave, Slovenia for the first EuroBasket Draw to be held underground. The Draw Ceremony will take place this Sunday, at 18:00 CET (17:00 GMT) and will be streamed live on FIBA Europe TV.

The world-famous tourist attraction will host over 600 guests, including delegates of the 24 participating teams, special guests as well as over 150 accredited media, providing a unique setting for the historic and spectacular event.

Seven of Europe’s all-time most renowned basketball players will assist in picking the First Round groups. The three official EuroBasket 2013 ambassadors Radoslav Nesterovic, Peter Vilfan and Ivo Daneu will be joined on stage by fellow former legendary players Aljosa Zorga, Jorge Garbajosa, Ibrahim Kutluay and Alexander Volkov.

The teams had been divided into six seeding pots, being ranked according to their results in the last FIBA Europe competition they participated in. They will be drawn into four groups of six and the groups will then be allocated to their first round venues Jesenice, Koper, Celje and Hala Tivoli in Ljubljana.

The 2013 edition of the EuroBasket will be held from 4-22 September 2013.
