Hosts Enel Brindisi have triumphed in the preseason tournament BMW Cup IV Memorial Elio Pentassuglia. It is the fourth year that the two-day tournament, honoring the memory of great Italian player and coach Aurelio “Elio” Pentassuglia. He is an important coach in Italian basketball, earning the Van Zandt Coach of the Year award in 1969, two junior national titles, as well one Korac Cup with Sebastiani Rieti. The event was held on September 19-20.

Enel Brindisi beat Banco di Sardegna Sassari, 72-60. Enel Brindisi had a distinct advantage coming into the Final match-up. Recent addition from the Dominican Republic, Edgar Sosa led Sassari 14 points. Teammate Jeff Brooks added 13.
