Dionte Christmas (196 cm, Temple’06) has been waived by CSKA Moscow from Russia’s PBL. He joined the team in October 2012. Christmas played eight games for CSKA in the VTB United League and averaged 5.5 ppg and 2.0 rpg. He also was part of the team when they competed in the Euroleague, managing 13 games with averages of 6.5 ppg and 1.1 rpg. In the PBL, Christmas played six games for CSKA and logged averages of 3.8 ppg and 2.2 rpg.

It was a matter of “a different direction to be taken by the team.” Ettore Messina, head coach of CSKA Moscow goes on to say:

We appreciate Dionte’s effort, his abilities and everything he gave us in these months with the team. The reason why we made the change is because we think we need a different structure of the team and Papaloukas can bring us what we feel we need at this moment.
