David Cubillan signs with Maccabi Haifa

David Cubillan (181 cm, Marquette’10) is set to make history and become the first Venezuelan import to play for Maccabi Bazan Haifa (Israel-Winner League). His 2013-14 season with the Israeli team will be his first foray into a professional European league.

In 2013 he played for Trotamundos de Carabobo from Venezuela’s LPB and there he averaged 12.2 ppg and 4.8 apg in 40 games. He was also a solid defender, averaging 2.2 SPG for the club that year. He first joined Trotamundos de Carabobo in 2012. He played 41 games for them and posted averages of 12.3 ppg and 5.1 apg and took his team to the Venezuelan LPB finals that year. His impressive play in 2012 got him an invite to play in the Venezuelan LPB All-Star Game.
