David Cubillan heads to Maccabi Ashdod

Maccabi Ashdod (Israel-Winner League) has added Venezuelan player David Cubillan (181 cm, Marquette’10) for the remainder of the season. David began 2013-14 playing for another Winner league team, Maccabi Haifa. Cubillan has been a member of the Venezuelan National Team in 2007 and again from 2010 through 2013. He played 16 games for Maccabi Haifa in the Eurocup and averaged 4.6 ppg and 2.4 apg. The guard also played 22 games in the Israeli league and there he was able to hit averages of 6.5 ppg and 2.6 apg.

Before his run in Israel, Cubillan played his early professional career at home in Venezuela’s LPB for Trotamundos de Carabobo where he played for three seasons. In 2013 he played in 40 games for them and averaged 12.3 ppg and 5.1 apg.
