Former Philadelphia 76ers great, Darryl Dawkins has passed away at age 58. Nicknamed “Chocolate Thunder” for his powerful slam dunks and larger-than-life personality, Dawkins left his friends and family due to a heart attack. His NBA career spanned 15 seasons and the big man averaged 12 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with fifth overall pick in the 1975 NBA Draft. Darryl went on to play seven seasons for Philly. He also spent five seasons with the New Jersey Nets, two seasons with the Detroit Pistons, and a year with Utah Jazz.
