Chinese CBA team, the Shanghai Dongfang Sharks have bolstered their frontcourt with the addition of former NBA forward Darnell Jackson (203 cm, Kansas’08). The 28-year-old Oklahoma City native was drafted by the Miami Heat 52nd overall during the 2008 NBA draft. He was recently released by the Indiana Pacers prior to this signing.
This will be a return to China for Darnell. He played there in the 2012-13 season for the Xinjiang Flying Tigers (CBA). In 11 games he was able to post averages of 18.0 ppg and 9.9 rpg. He later moved to the NBA’s D-League where he was picked up by the Reno Bighorns. Jackson averaged 13.8 ppg and 6.7 rpg in 19 games.
