Darius Washington headed to Hapoel Eilat

Darius WashingtonDarius Washington (185 cm, Memphis’06) is on his way to join Israeli team Hapoel Eilat. The American guard will replace Austin Freeman (190 cm, Georgetown’11). Freeman moved to Maccabi Ashdod yesterday. The deal will be official soon. Maccabi Ashdod is in last place of the Israeli Winnerleague and is in desperate need of an impact player. Freeman averaged 12.6 ppg so far in Israel. Darius Washington on the other hand, last played in Porto Rico where he averaged 13.3 ppg and 3.4 aspg for Pirates de Quebradillas. Washington has dual citizenship and played for the national team of Macedonia in professional leagues in Turkey, Italy, Russia and Greece.

    Wow! Hiscareer has been winding down… Did see him play in Russia where he was overrated in my opinion. Since then it has been going down for him…
