Saric wins 2013 Young Player of the Year

Dario Saric

FIBA Europe has named Croatia’s Dario Saric (204 cm) the 2013 Young Men’s Player of the Year. He beat out Kenan Sepahi (198 cm) and Giannis Antekuonmpo (206 cm). The talented and clearly improving Croatian player was the runner-up for the award in 2012. He led Croatia’s U19 team in the World Championships in the Czech Republic. Dario also joined Croatian Senior National Team in Slovenia as they participated in the 2013 Eurobasket. He averaged 5.5 ppg and 3.2 rpg as a reserve during the tournament. Even though he did not get a lot of playing time, the experience of competing at a high level should prove to be invaluable towards his development.
