Daniel Orton heads to Sichuan Blue Whales

Daniel Orton (208 cm, Kentucky’10) is moving to his fourth team this season, but has yet to play a game. He spent the preseason with the Washington Wizards, but did not make the cut. He then headed to China, signing with Shanxi Zhongyu (China-CBA). Orton then signed with the Grand Rapids Drive from the NBA D-League. Now, he’s back in Asia to hopefully continue his professional career with the Blue Whales.

Daniel began the 2013/14 season with Oklahoma City Thunder and was released by the team in October 2013. He then signed with the Philadelphia 76ers and there he averaged 3.1 ppg and 2.9 rpg in 21 games. Orton headed to the NBA’s D-League in January 2014 after being cut by the Sixers.
