D.J. Stephens transfers to Zenit

D.J. Stephens (198 cm, Memphis’13) has been added by Zenit Saint Petersburg (Russia-VTB-League). The former NBA player had a short stint with New Orleans Pelicans (NBA) before heading to Russia.  The 2013/14 season he finished with Anadolu Efes Istanbul (Turkey-TBL) where he averaged 5.0 ppg and 2.4 rpg over seven games. Also, D.J. Stephens played two games for the Milwaukee Bucks and averaged 3.5 ppg and 2.5 rpg as a reserve. He spent the earlier part of the season playing in Greece for Ilysiakos Athens. Stephens appeared in 18 games for Ilysiakos in the Greek A1 league and posted averages of 9.8 ppg and 8.8 rpg. In his senior year at Memphis D.J. Stephens posted averages of 7.7 ppg and 6.6 rpg in 36 games. He was named All-C USA Defensive Player of the Year and to the C-USA All-Defensive Team in 2013, thanks in part to his averages of 2.8 bpg.
