Cleveland wins 2014 NBA Draft Lottery

2014 NBA Draft Lottery

With only a 1.7% chance to get it, amazingly the Cleveland Cavaliers have won the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery and will have the first pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. This makes it a back-to-back for the Cavs who selected Anthony Bennett first overall in the 2013 NBA Draft. The last time a team had the number one pick in back-to-back seasons was in 1992 and 1993 when the Orlando Magic selected Shaquille O’Neal and Chris Webber (traded), respectively.

Cleveland will get the first crack at what is perceived to be a very deep draft class during the NBA Draft, which will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 26. Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins are a couple of names being floated as potential top picks.

Tim Duncan, the San Antonio Spurs’ number one selection in 1997, is currently the oldest active number-one pick in the NBA.
