More than anything, we know that Basketball is not only a U.S. sport anymore.

Carlos Arroyo (188 cm, Florida International University’01) has been confirmed as having signed with Galatasaray Medical Park (Turkey-TBL) and could be ready to suit up in the club’s Turkish League game against Hacettepe University (Jan. 5) and their EuroCup Top 16 opener against Unics Kazan (Jan. 9). Galatasaray coach Ergin Ataman stated in a recent interview that he felt that Arroyo wasn’t 100% ready, but was more like 80% and that Arroy knows their system so that he would adapt quickly and be ready to play. Arroyo played in the NBA since 2001 with a variety of teams, until 2010-11, including one year (2008-09) where he played for Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel-Premiere League). He most recently played for Besiktas Milangaz Istanbul (Turkey-TBL) in the Euroleague (10.7ppg/9 games) and Turkish TBL (14.7ppg/27 games).
