Antwerp Giants change coaches

antwerp giants

The Port of Antwerp Giants from Belgium’s Ethias League will have a new coach for the 2013-14 season. The contract of the team’s current coach, Eddy Casteels, will not be renewed. In his stead the Giants will be coached by Paul Vervaeck, who has been given a two-season contract by the team. Casteels has been the Giants’ coach for the last five seasons.

Vervaeck comes with experience coaching CEP Fleurus (Belgium-Division2) in the 2012-13 season. Before that he coached Basket Bree (Belgium-PL1) for four seasons. His best season with Basketb Bree came in 2009 when he led the team to become the Belgian D2 Regular Season Champions and all the way to be the Belgian D2 Champions.
