ABA and USA Jr Basketball Assoc. Form Partnership

Indianapolis, IN. – The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced that it has formed a partnership with The USA Junior Basketball Association (USAJBA) www.USAJBA.org. Various ABA teams will offer youth basketball programs to their communities providing a rewarding basketball experience for kids ages 5-14 of all skill levels. The kids will have an opportunity to learn what it takes to win on and off the court. The leagues will emphasize fun while encouraging fundamental skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and community involvement. Each ABA basketball team will run their own program but has affiliation to the USAJBA and also will receive the benefits of being a part of the program.

USA Junior Basketball Association is a national sanctioning organization for youth basketball. The purpose of USAJBA is to record and publish State and National rankings for team’s competing in USAJBA-sanctioned events. What sets USAJBA apart from other organizations is there are no team sanctioning or registration fees.

“We are very pleased to have the support of the ABA,” stated Chris Rowles of USAJBA. “With so many teams in so many cities, we really feel that the ABA can help USAJBA impact youth nationwide with this grassroots initiative. Youth basketball is a great way to promote ABA teams to the community as well as help young people achieve their goals on and off the court.”

“This is definitely not an easy project to launch,” added Joe Newman, ABA CEO.  “ABA teams currently work closely with Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, PALs, schools and other youth groups in their communities. But this affords them an opportunity to expand their efforts and many ABA teams are excited about the opportunity and the partnership.”  For more information, contact Chris Rowles at Chris@USAJBA.org or visit www.USAJBA.org or www.abalive.com.
