(New York, NY). UBC-TV Network, a Harlem NY-based broadcast multi-media company and the American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com has locked down the inaugural national broadcast schedule for ABA games on UBC-TV (www.ubctvnetwork.com) for the upcoming season.
The TV games will kickoff with the defending champion Jacksonville Giants hosting the runner-up South Carolina Warriors on December 8th. The broadcasts will air every Saturday night live on UBC-TV. There are currently 12 regular season games scheduled with the option for UBC-TV to add more. UBC-TV will also broadcast the ABA All Star Game, the playoffs and the championship game.
The games will be anchored by Bill Vargus, a two-time Emmy award winning sportscaster and Matt Waymire, who has worked for both Fox and NBC sports. Color commentary will take on a local flavor with each home team giving its home town commentator a chance to work alongside Vargus and Waymire.
Halftime will feature local and established performing artists which will make the ABA on UBC-TV complete entertainment package. There will also be a charity recognized at every game, a component that is close to ABA CEO Joe Newman’s heart. “There’s a lot of basketball on television,” stated Newman. “Our goal this season is to create something very special – more exciting, more interesting, more entertaining and more relevant than any other basketball.
