Ties Theeuwkens plays with a positive arrogance rarely seen in players his age. It is clear he does not shy away from responsibility on the court. Ties knows te be a champion. As member of the second stream of players for the AA Drink Basketball Acadamy (Rotterdam Basketbalklas) of coach Erik Braal he was part of the team that became Dutch champion cadets in 2002 and Dutch champion juniors in 2003. Both years being the drive of the team. He posesses excellent ball handling skills, passing skills, and decision making ability that will make him a guard to be reckoned with. He has strong legs and is very fast for his height. With this speed he can easily put pressure on the opposing guard, full court, when on defence. Finishes strong going to the basket occasionally dunking the ball. Impressive talent. Loves the game. Former member of the Dutch National Junior Team. Was voted All First Team at the Dutch Final Four where his team, Eiffel Towers, won the National Junior title in 2004. Got injured in December 2004 at Den Helder at his knee but recovered throughout the first couple of months of 2005. Player for Den Helder in the the summer of 2005 in the U-23 league in The Netherlands. Moved to Rotterdam after and has developed into a very solid player. This resulted in Ties being selected for the Dutch NT campaign in the summer of 2007.
