Thomas is a product of the youth program in Den Helder which has a very good reputation in Dutch basketball. He came to Den Helder at the age of 14 because of their highly regarded program. Played for all the youth selections and Was the starting center of the U-22 Den Helder team the 2006-2007 season which won the regular league title and finished in second place after losing the final of the Final Four. Was also a member of the Dutch National team Under-16 and Under-18 and is expected to be with the Under-20 as well throughout the summer of 2008. One of the biggest talents in Dutch basketball at his position. Has been getting a lot of playing time in Division One this season (2007-2008) playing for Den Helder SEALS. Runs the floor very well for his size and position, has great work ethic and has the potential and upside to keep improving. Did work on his post moves and outside shooting and he improved dramatically. Very active rebounder at both ends of the floor. Not afraid at all of making contact in defense. Finished highschool (HAVO) in June 2008. Signed as a full-professional for 2 seasons with BluestreamSeals/Den Helder until 2010. After this team folded in 2009, he signed a 3-year deal with Bergen op Zoom/Ginats. Was voted MVP U-23 in the Dutch leagie at the age of 19 on April 5, 2009! Starter of the Dutch National U-20 team that won the FIBA B-division (summer 2009) while averaging 13,0 ppg (48,7% FG, 65,2% FT) and 9,9 rpg. Was operated on his ankle late February 2011 and missed the remainder of the season because of that. Was under contract with Bergen op Zoom/Giants for the 2011-'12 season but this club folded completely on September 9, 2011.
